As the Maintenance Operative, you will:
- Have the ability to cover multiple homes on both a planned and unplanned basis depending on the needs of the home.
- You will travel across the south division to ensure that vital internal checks are undertaken with maintenance and service records kept updated. It is vital that the homes you are supporting remains safe and compliant.
- Carry out minor repairs to buildings, furniture, fixtures and equipment, minor plumbing and carpentry within the home as required, liaise with the Regional Property Advisor for more specialised or larger repairs or projects.
- Assist with the induction and training of colleagues, e.g., fire familiarisation, operation of emergency exits, fire points and evacuation procedures.
- Be available for advice and or action in any emergencies which may arise out of hours to include weekends and bank holidays. Be prepared to attend the home for emergencies if requested by the Home Manager.
To apply, you will need:
- Full UK driving license as you will be travelling across multi-site homes.
- A trade or similar qualification
- Experience in a similar role within maintenance (or experience in a trade),
- Extensive experience of carrying out repairs, general decoration, basic electrical,
- plumbing and carpentry
- Demonstrable experience of Fire and all Health & Safety checks and other legislative obligations along
- with the associated record keeping
- Strong communication and organisational skills
