The staff at Arden House Care Home in Leamington Spa were full of Christmas spirit this week as they made a festive donation to their local food bank instead of exchanging gifts.

Usually, the entire team at the Greensleeves Care home would exchange Secret Santa gifts, however this year they made the choice to purchase some festive treats to donate to the local Trussell Trust food bank, which is led by volunteers and visits different areas within Leamington Spa each day.

The food bank is The Trussell Trust Food Bank which is run by volunteers and every day the food bank visits another part of Leamington Spa.

Julia Packer, Arden House’s Activities Co-ordinator, said:

“It was lovely to do this in place of our usual Secret Santa. We all feel as though we already have everything we need, so we are glad to know that we will hopefully have made a difference to people who really need it. We have made great connections with the local community over the years, so it feels great to be able to give back.”
